JACKSBORO, Texas — The Jacksboro ISD Tigerette softball team has self-reported a University Interscholastic League (UIL) violation, according to a press release by the district.
Jacksboro ISD Athletic Director, Casey Hubble, was informed by another school of the rule violation, the release states.
According to the other district, the violation involved a player participating in more games than allowed by the UIL. After an internal review with Head Softball Coach John Bennett, the district was able to confirm the findings, the district said.
Jacksboro ISD states that out of their commitment to integrity and to UIL rules, they self-reported the violation and will accept the minimum punishment of forfeiture for the following four district games:
- April 7, 2026
- April 10, 2026
- April 14, 2026
- April 17, 2026
The district will now become 4-8 with the forfeitures, putting the team in 5th place. The team will also withdraw from any postseason play, the release states.
According to the district, it was an unintentional error in tracking limitation protections. Jacksboro ISD says in part, “There was no intent on the part of our coaching staff to gain a competitive advantage. Jacksboro ISD takes full responsibility for this error and remains committed to upholding the standards and integrity expected by the UIL.”
