‘Bob’s Burgers’ voice actor Eugene Mirman is ‘back in life’ after fiery crash

Mirman was pulled from a burning vehicle after a single-vehicle crash a month ago in New Hampshire.

WASHINGTON — About a month after “Bob’s Burgers” voice actor and comedian Eugene Mirman was injured in a fiery crash in New Hampshire, he said he’s “back in life,” according to Variety.

Mirman’s 2026 Lucid Gravity struck a toll plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike on March 31. The vehicle caught fire, and a state trooper pulled Mirman out through a window, according to New Hampshire State Police.

“I know, I obviously went through an insane accident,” he told Variety. “For the first few days, people didn’t know it was me! But I am doing really good. I was injured, but not nearly as much as probably the images that were out there in the world potentially made it seem. So I’m doing not bad. I was just at the Lego store for ‘May the Fourth’ with my son, looking at Star Wars Legos. So I’m back in life.”

In fact, his new comedy special “Here comes the Whimsy” premiered Tuesday on YouTube.

Mirman told Variety that he doesn’t remember the crash, in which he broke his wrist and some ribs, and suffered a concussion.

“I don’t know what happened or caused it, though I am trying to figure out or do anything I can for myself to avoid anything like that,” he said. “Mostly I’m sort of happy to be here.”

Mirman, a Russian-born comedian, writer and actor, has voiced the character of Gene Belcher on “Bob’s Burgers” since 2011. His other credits include “Flight of the Conchords,” “Delocated,” “The Simpsons” and “Archer.”
