Man wanted for exposing himself at Harris County park

Investigators said David Schumaker has a history of indecent exposure. They’re asking anyone who knows where he is to call them.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Authorities are searching for a man tied to indecent exposure cases at a Harris County park and warn there may be additional victims.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help as they search for David Schumaker, who’s believed to be responsible for multiple indecent exposure cases at a Harris County park. Investigators believe there could be more victims.

Constable Terry Allbritton said deputies are looking for Schumaker, a 36-year-old man identified as the suspect in incidents reported at Mike Driscoll Park.

The investigation began in April after a woman reported seeing a man exposing himself along a walking trail at the park. Deputies with Precinct 5’s Parks Division responded and quickly launched an investigation, increasing patrols and placing the area under special watch.

Through those efforts, investigators said they were able to identify Schumaker as the suspect. Authorities also noted he has a history of indecent exposure.

Detectives later obtained a warrant charging Schumaker with indecent exposure with one prior conviction. As of now, he is not in custody.

Investigators say the case may not be isolated.

Precinct 5 detectives believe there may be other victims connected to the same suspect and are urging anyone with information — or anyone who may have experienced a similar incident — to come forward.

The alleged incidents happened along a public trail, a place often used by visitors for walking and recreation, raising concern among investigators that others may not have reported similar encounters.

Authorities said they are actively working to locate Schumaker and continue building the case. In the meantime, they are asking the public to stay aware and report any information that could help identify additional incidents or lead to his arrest.

Anyone with information related to the case or possible additional victims is encouraged to contact Precinct 5 Detective Kayla Cohan at Kayla.Cohan@cn5.hctx.net.
