North Texas teacher arrested, charged with voyeurism after allegedly secretly filming students in school hallway, affidavit says

A Duncanville High School teacher was charged with voyeurism after allegedly secretly filming inappropriate videos of girls in the school hallway, police say.

DUNCANVILLE, Texas — A North Texas teacher has been arrested and charged with voyeurism after he allegedly secretly filmed students in the hallway of Duncanville High School, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by WFAA.

Police say on Friday at 11:30 a.m., officers arrested Duncanville High School teacher Garrett Michael Davis, 30, after an investigation into allegations of voyeurism involving an educator and a student.

Officials say the investigation began after reports were made to Duncanville ISD administrators and were referred to both the Duncanville ISD Police Department and Duncanville police.

The initial report was first made by Davis’ former girlfriend, who is also a teacher at Duncanville High School. During a search of Davis’ phone, she found inappropriate messages exchanged with a student who was a senior at Duncanville High School, and videos showing the butts of several girls walking through the high school hallway, according to the affidavit.

The ex-girlfriend also provided evidence of Davis discussing a female student with another Duncanville ISD teacher, in which they discussed wanting to have sex with that student.

In an interview with police, Davis admitted to exchanging messages he described as “sexting” with a student, the affidavit states. Messages obtained by police also show Davis attempting to meet up with the student several times.

Davis also admitted to taking videos of girls walking through the hallway without their consent, according to the affidavit. He said he possessed about 10 videos of girls that were taken without their consent.

Detectives later met with one of the girls whom Davis recorded and her mother, who chose to press charges, according to the affidavit. The victim was a minor at the time of the offense.

Police say Duncanville ISD has placed Davis on administrative leave and is cooperating fully with the investigation. Duncanville ISD says they’re committed to maintaining a safe learning environment.

Duncanville ISD also says that, out of an abundance of caution, there is concern that there may be additional victims and encourages anyone with more information to come forward.

Duncanville police say the investigation is still ongoing and they’ll continue to investigate all allegations alongside district officials and community partners to ensure the safety of all students and residents.
