Miami mansion from ‘Scarface’ listed for $237 million

If sold for the asking price, the 13,000 square-foot mansion would be one of the most expensive properties in the world.

WASHINGTON — Say hello to my little listing.

The 13,000 square-foot mansion featured in the 1983 gangster movie “Scarface” has been listed for an unbelievable $237 million, which would make the Miami-area house one of the most expensive properties in the world, if sold for its asking price.

Jill Eber and Judy Zeder of the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker Realty are listing the property, a public relations representative confirmed.

In the movie, the house belonged to Frank Lopez, the Miami drug lord played by the late great Robert Loggia, who takes Tony Montana under his wing and is eventually betrayed by Al Pacino’s character. It’s inside the house that Tony first meets his future wife, Elvira, played by Michelle Pfeiffer.

The glass elevator that Pfieffer’s character rides in and a piano-shaped pool are among the many features that whoever has a quarter-billion to put aside will be able to enjoy inside the 2.38-acre estate.

“So thankful to have this elevator in my life,” United Capital Markets CEO John Devaney, who currently owns the mansion, posted on his Instagram last November.

In case you’re wondering, Tony Montana’s Miami mansion, where the movie’s final shootout takes place and where the character cohabitated with a Bengal tiger, was actually an estate in Southern California. That property was last on the market in 2022 and was listed for a meager $40M, when compared to the price of Tony’s former boss’ house.

The estate also played a role in American history, where it served as a “Winter White House” for President Richard Nixon during his time in office from 1969 to 1974. In 1970, The New York Times reported that the Department of Defense spent the equivalent of about $3 million, when adjusted for inflation, to build a helicopter pad at the residence. The helicopter has since been converted into a private marina, according to The Jills Zeder Group.

The 13,000 square-foot mansion is for sale is on Key Biscayne, an island connected to Miami by a causeway. Despite its name, Key Biscayne is not part of the Florida Keys.

Devaney, frequently shows off the mansion on his Instagram account, granting a tour last December to streamer N3on.
