A Celina neighborhood dispute “escalated quickly” into a shooting Sunday. One person is hospitalized, and police are now working to piece together what happened.
CELINA, Texas — A dispute between neighbors escalated into violence Sunday evening, leaving one person hospitalized with gunshot wounds, according to the Celina Police Department.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Tarpan Trail in the Carter Ranch neighborhood around 6:00 p.m. following reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police found an incident that witnesses described as having “escalated quickly.”
Victims and Medical Response
Emergency responders treated two individuals at the scene:
- One person was offered medical treatment on-site.
- A second person was transported by Celina Fire Department EMTs to a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
The current condition of the hospitalized individual has not been released.
Public Safety and Investigation
Police have secured the neighborhood and stated there is currently “no threat to the public.” However, a heavy police presence remains in the area as the investigation continues. Authorities are asking residents to avoid the 300 block of Tarpan Trail throughout the evening to allow investigators to process the scene.
“Law enforcement officials have launched a full investigation that is ongoing, and no further details can be shared at this time,” the department said in a statement.
