According to federal agents, the men were part of a drug trafficking scheme in Louisiana and the Eastern District of Texas.
HOUSTON — Five members of a suspected Houston-based drug trafficking organization have been sentenced to federal prison following a multi-state investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
According to the DEA, Salvador Abraham Gomez, 45, also known as “Chop” and “Chief,” received the longest sentence — 300 months in federal prison. Gomez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and 400 grams or more of a substance containing fentanyl. U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone handed down the sentence on April 16, 2026.
Four co-defendants were also sentenced in recent weeks. Da Neang, 46, was sentenced to 151 months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. Fernando Adalberto Vazquez-Pardo, 33, received 135 months for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. Guillermo Alfredo Sisnados, 39, was sentenced to 121 months for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, and Ebony Barber, 35, was sentenced to 120 months for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. All sentences were imposed by Judge Crone between March 4 and April 16, 2026.
Federal authorities say the case stems from an investigation that began in 2021, targeting a drug trafficking scheme operating in Louisiana and the Eastern District of Texas. Investigators identified Gomez as the primary source of supply, along with his associates Neang, Vazquez-Pardo, Sisnados and Barber.
According to information presented in court, the investigation uncovered a large-scale drug distribution network spanning multiple states. Authorities determined Gomez was responsible for coordinating the distribution of at least 7,805 grams of methamphetamine and 4,907 grams of a substance containing fentanyl.
