Eligible customers can receive up to $10 from the settlement if they file a claim by June 30.
WASHINGTON — Nationwide hair removal salon chain European Wax Center has agreed to a $5 million settlement to resolve a class-action lawsuit over the disclosure of personal information of those who visited its website.
The settlement relates to the use of “pixels, cookies, code, and/or tracking or analytics tools” on the European Wax Center website that were used to disclose information to third parties without visitors’ permission, according to the settlement website.
The wax center denies that it violated the law but agreed to the settlement to avoid the cost, disruption to its operations and uncertainty associated with fighting the lawsuit, the settlement website says.
Do you qualify for a payment from the European Wax Center settlement?
Any U.S. resident who visited www.waxcenter.com between June 30, 2023, and April 2, 2026, can qualify for the settlement. That includes but is not limited to those who booked an appointment on the wax center’s website.
How do you file a claim for the European Wax Center settlement?
Those who qualify can file a claim form to receive a cash payment of up to $10. The amount of the cash payment might be reduced depending on the number of claims filed. Claims must be filed by June 30, 2026.
The form to file a claim is available on the settlement website.
By filing a claim, you give up your right to sue European Wax Center regarding the claims in the lawsuit.
Eligible customers can also exclude themselves from the settlement or object to the settlement. The deadline for both is June 30.
Those who are eligible for the settlement and do not take action on a claim by June 30, 2026, will not receive a cash payment and will also give up their right to sue regarding the claims in the lawsuit.
Payments will begin to be distributed to claimants once the court decides whether to grant final approval to the settlement. That hearing is scheduled for July 15.
