Sheriff: Deputy shoots man at Walgreens in northwest Harris County

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said a deputy was responding to a call for service when he reportedly discharged his weapon, striking an adult man.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — An investigation is underway after a man was shot by a deputy in northwest Harris County Saturday night, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

According to the address posted by Gonzalez on X, the shooting happened at a Walgreens on Veterans Memorial Drive.

Gonzalez said a deputy was responding to a call for service when he reportedly discharged his weapon, striking an adult man.

The man was taken to a hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

The deputy was not injured. 

It is unclear what led up to the shooting. No further details have been released as the investigation continues.
