Armed suspect on the run after shots fired on Butte Creek Road

Deputies are searching for an armed suspect after shots were fired in northwest Harris County. No injuries were reported, but police remain on scene.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Deputies are searching for an armed suspect after shots were fired Tuesday morning in northwest Harris County, according to Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

Shots fired on Butte Creek Road

Constable Herman said his deputies responded to reports of multiple gunshots on Butte Creek Road just northwest of FM 1960.

This is near Ponderosa Elementary School, but no lockdown has been reported yet.

Deputies confirmed that no one was hit during the incident.

Suspect description

The suspect was described as wearing all black. Constable Herman said he ran from the location before deputies arrived.

Heavy police presence in the area

Deputies are actively searching the area. Officials warned residents to expect a large police presence nearby and to stay away from the scene.

“Please avoid the scene and allow investigators to work safely,” Constable Herman’s Office posted on social media.
