Breaking Texas City news: TCHS on lockdown

Texas City Emergency Management said all students and staff were secure inside the building.

TEXAS CITY, Texas — Texas City High School was placed on lockdown Friday afternoon as police investigated a reported threat to the school, according to Texas City Emergency Management.

The lockdown was issued at 2:33 p.m., with all students and staff secured inside the building while police check the facility. The school district confirmed that everyone inside is safe.

Texas City Emergency Management is telling parents and community members to avoid coming to the school while police investigate.

Texas City ISD said it will give updates as more information becomes available.
