A natural gas leak forced county officials to evacuate homes and businesses in the Hillcrest Village area.
BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas — Brazoria County officials issued evacuation orders to dozens of homes and businesses due to a natural gas leak on Wednesday.
The Brazoria County Fire Marshal’s Office and other emergency services were working to contain the leak in the Hillcrest Village area.
County officials evacuated 20 homes in the immediate area and also told people in homes and businesses within a half-mile radius of the Hillcrest Golf Course to leave the area until the leak was contained. Members of the public were also told to avoid the area.
