I-10 is closed in both directions. Houston TranStar says there was a crash between two cars and power lines down.

HOUSTON — I-10, the East Freeway, is shut down in both directions at Lathrop Street because of a wreck and downed power lines.

Houston Transtar says there was a crash between two vehicles, that resulted in the downed lines. Live cameras showed traffic at a standstill both eastbound and westbound.. At this point, it isn’t clear what led to the wreck. We also don’t know if there were any injuries.

If you can delay your East Freeway drive, do that. You can also avoid I-10 by taking the Beltway or the Loop.

We’ll follow this breaking traffic story and will post updates as we get them. We’ll also let you know when the freeway is back open.
