Massive plumes of black smoke could be seen from TranStar traffic cameras along the Sam Houston Tollway.
HOUSTON — An 18-wheeler-tanker exploded and caught fire on the US-90 Alternate entrance ramp at Fondren Saturday morning, according to the Houston Fire Department.
Houston TranStar reported that the explosion and flames completely shut down the roadway headed west, as well as the three frontage road lanes.

At this time, we don’t know what caused the explosion and fire. It’s unclear if anyone was hurt.
