AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Wednesday, Travis County announced a new flood recovery call center would open to assist residents with questions related to long-term flood recovery.
The county said the recovery call center was established with the Travis County clerk and the Texas Division of Emergency Management, and will act as a “one-stop shop” for information on supplies, FEMA financial assistance, permitting and other resources.
Residents impacted by the July 5 flooding can call 512-854-8232 to ask questions about recovery resources and navigate various application processes to help rebuild, according to the press release.
Travis County reminded residents that the deadline to apply for FEMA disaster assistance is quickly approaching on Sept. 4. For those who have not already reported damages/losses from the July 5 flooding, they can do so by visiting the TDEM website.
Additionally, the county said it offers financial assistance for residents impacted by flooding through the Travis County Cares Fund.
The fund is designed to offer short-term relief for residents whose homes were damaged or lost in the flood, according to the press release. The last day to apply for the funds is Monday, August 25.
