AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Saturday, Bastrop County will host its third annual county health fair, hosted by the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce. The event lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bastrop Convention and Exhibit Center.
According to the press release, the health fair will offer free health screenings, CPR certification, community wellness resources, and family-friendly fun for all ages.
This year’s fair will feature a PHI Air Medical helicopter fly-in, The Big Pink Bus mobile mammography unit, We Are Blood donation station, free child I.D. fingerprinting kits, and a mascot parade at 1 p.m., as well as a variety of food trucks.
The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce said the health fair was created to promote preventive care and healthy lifestyles, as well as give access to local health services.
Last year, the county said more than 600 residents attended, with over $10,000 back to the community in free services, according to the press release.
