Police arrested a man accused of fatally shooting a woman after a chase in Houston.
HOUSTON — A man accused of shooting a woman at a southwest Houston apartment complex early Wednesday morning was taken into custody after a police chase, according to the Houston Police Department.
The preliminary information from HPD indicates officers were called to a shooting in progress around 3:16 a.m. on Wild Indigo Street. Investigators believe a man and woman who were in some kind of relationship got into a disturbance before the man shot the woman.
The woman was taken to a hospital in stable condition, police initially said. However, she has since been confirmed dead.
Police said the man fled the scene but was arrested after a pursuit in the area of North Eldridge Parkway and the Katy Freeway in west Houston.
This is a developing story, and the details are preliminary, according to HPD.
