Restaurants like Caracol are hoping the delicious meals and great deals will attract customers during a typically slow time of year.
HOUSTON — Houston Restaurant Weeks, one of H-Town’s favorite foodie events, is underway through September 1.
Many popular restaurants are offering multi-course, prix fixe menus for brunch, lunch or dinner with discounted prices ranging from $25 to $55.
With over 400 restaurants participating, it’s an opportunity to revisit an old favorite or discover a new one.
At a time when the restaurant industry is struggling, HRW comes at a perfect time.
Caracol chef Adrian Caballeros said this is typically a slow season, so the special prices help bring in customers.
Diners can check the HRW website for menu options.
“I actually got an email from my husband that gave me all the choices for Restaurant Week. And so I’ve been going through them and sort of bookmarking where we want to go, where we should go,” Lisa Wright told KHOU 11.
“It’s kind of a little mini menu of all their best dishes, so it’s lovely to choose from that,” Rosie McStay said.
Carmen Merin is also a fan.
“We get to mix and match, something I enjoy,” she said.
Best of all, HRW raises money for a good cause with a portion of the proceeds going to the Houston Food Bank. In 22 years, it’s raised $22M, which translates to 66 million meals.
That means good food and good deals for a good cause.
