Mayor Thomas Schoenbein was airlifted to the hospital on Monday after a medical emergency at City Hall.
PASADENA, Texas — The City of Pasadena has provided an update on Mayor Thomas Schoenbein after he was hospitalized due to a medical emergency.
The mayor was airlifted from City Hall on Monday and is receiving treatment at Memorial Hermann Hospital. He has made “significant improvements over the past 24 hours,” the city said on social media.
“Mayor Schoenbein is in good spirits and has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of love, care and support he and his family have received. Your continued prayers and encouragement mean the world to him and make a real difference during this time,” according to the city.
According to his online bio, Schoenbein has been a resident of Pasadena for 50 years. He and his wife, Bonnie, have two children and three grandchildren.
He is in his first term as mayor, having been sworn in on July 1, 2025.
