HOUSTON — Customers of two Houston Krogers will soon have to find another place to buy their groceries.
Kroger confirmed it is closing stores in Hedwig Village and Spring Branch. The stores are located at 9325 Katy Freeway and 2300 North Gessner.
Earlier this year, Kroger closed locations on Sterling Ridge in The Woodlands and on the Gulf Freeway in Dickinson.
“These closures are part of a larger company-wide decision to run more efficiently and ensure the long-term health of our business,” Corporate Affairs Manager Shayna Barrett told KHOU 11 in a statement.
Barrett said impacted associates will have the opportunity to transfer to a new location.
Kroger is the nation’s largest supermarket chain, with 2,731 stores in 35 states and the District of Columbia. It operates stores under multiple brand names, including Smith’s, Ralphs, King Soopers and Fred Meyer.
