Mayor Thomas Schoenbein suffers medical emergency at Pasadena City Hall

The City of Pasadena didn’t give specifics of the mayor’s condition, but said he was airlifted to the hospital.

PASADENA, Texas — Pasadena Mayor Thomas Schoenbein had a medical emergency Monday afternoon and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment, according to the city.

The city didn’t give any specifics of his emergency, which happened at around 1:15 p.m. at Pasadena City Hall.

“City leadership is in close contact with his family, and we ask the community to keep him in their thoughts and prayers during this time,” according to a release from the city.

In the release, Pasadena city officials said the city will still operate as normal and its leadership team will continue business as usual. As soon as there’s an update on his condition, we’ll post it here.

According to his online bio, Schoenbein has been a resident of Pasadena for 50 years. He and his wife, Bonnie, have two children and three grandchildren.

He is in his first term as mayor, having been sworn in on Jan. 1, 2025.
