AUSTIN (KXAN) — The 2025 Family Eldercare Summer Fan Drive kicked off Friday morning to protect vulnerable Central Texans from the summer heat.
Central Texans can bring inexpensive box fans or monetary donations to drop-off locations to support the cause and keep their neighbors in need cool. This is the 35th year of the fan drive.
Family Eldercare is also accepting donations on its website through Sept. 15. Those donations will count toward the Summer Fan Drive.
KXAN is an event sponsor along with Roger Beasley Mazda. Drop-off locations include KXAN, Roger Beasley Mazda Central, Roger Beasley Mazda South, and Roger Beasley Mazda Georgetown.
The Summer Fan Drive will be open until 6 p.m. Friday.
