Police: 1 dead after 'multiple shots' fired at Robin Bledsoe Park

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead after an altercation between two groups led to a shooting at Robin Bledsoe Park in Leander, according to a social media post from the Leander Police Department. 

On Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., Leander police responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of Bagdad Road in the parking lot of Bledsoe Park. 

Leander PD said reports indicated that two groups were involved in an altercation and multiple shots were fired.The shooting left one man dead, police said. The victim’s identity will not be released pending notification of their family. 

In its initial social media post around 8:19 p.m., Leander police said there was a large police presence at Bledsoe Park and “Rumors of an active shooter are not accurate.”

Leander police said this is an isolated incident and that it appears to be no ongoing threat to the public.
