Duke, UConn, Maui Invitational highlight nonconference slate for Texas Longhorns

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas men’s basketball nonconference schedule is finalized, highlighted by a trip to Hawaii and two games against perennial powerhouse programs.

The Longhorns will open the 2025-26 season under first-year head coach Sean Miller on Nov. 4 against the Duke Blue Devils in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Dick Vitale Invitational on ESPN.

The matchups haven’t been announced yet, but Texas will spend part of Thanksgiving week in Lahaina, Hawaii, Nov. 24-26 for the Maui Invitational. Arizona State, Boise State, North Carolina State, Seton Hall, Southern California, Washington State and the host team Chaminade will all compete at the Lahaina Civic Center.

Texas will face Virginia in the SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 3 in Austin, and then hits the road Dec. 12 for Hartford, Connecticut, to play UConn.

Texas plays Lafayette, a Patriot League opponent from Easton, Pennsylvania, in its home opener Nov. 8, the start of a 4-game homestand before heading to Maui. The Longhorns host Fairleigh Dickinson (Nov. 12), Missouri-Kansas City (Nov. 15) and Rider (Nov. 18).

Texas also faces Southern (Dec. 8), Le Moyne (Dec. 16) and Maryland Eastern Shore (Dec. 22) at home.

Game times, as well as the finalized Southeastern Conference schedule, will be announced at a later date.
