Two people were fatally shot in the early morning hours on Saturday.
SAN MARCOS, Texas — Police in San Marcos are investigating a double shooting that left two dead early Saturday morning near Texas State University.
Officers were dispatched to San Antonio Street at Guadalupe Street for reports of shots fired.
When they arrived at the scene, they found two confirmed fatalities.
Police say they detained several people, but assure the public that there is no ongoing threat.
There was a large law enforcement presence in the area while officers investigated, impacting traffic for several hours.
As of 7:30 a.m., the streets were back open.
