John Carcamo, 22, was arrested in Baytown on Monday, July 14, according to court documents.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A Honduran national was arrested in east Harris County earlier this week after holding a woman hostage and sexually assaulting her, according to court documents.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Jose Carcamo at an east Harris County home on Monday, July 14.
He’s accused of kidnapping a woman from New York and holding her hostage without food or water for at least five days. Court documents say the victim tried to escape, but Carcamo picked her up and carried her back into the home as she screamed for help.
The woman told HCSO investigators that Carcamo sexually assaulted her multiple times and kept her locked in a closet.
During his initial court appearance, the prosecutor asked for a $75,000 bond while the court-appointed attorney requested a $1,000 bond.
After hearing the evidence, the judge set Carcamo’s bond at $150,000 and ordered him to stay away from the alleged victim if he makes bond.
Carcamo is on an ICE hold because he entered the United States illegally.
