AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin will host two nights of free concerts, fan experiences and soccer-themed fun this summer as part of the city’s build-up to the 2025 Major League Soccer All-Star Game, city officials announced in a city of Austin memo this week.
The “MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration” will take place July 19–20 at Auditorium Shores and Vic Mathias Shores at Lady Bird Lake Metropolitan Park, according to the memo sent to the Austin mayor and city council members.
The celebration is designed as a family-friendly, community kickoff for five days of soccer festivities that will culminate in the All-Star Game on July 25 at Q2 Stadium. The match will be broadcast to more than 100 countries and regions on MLS Season Pass, the memo said.
The MLS All-Star community event hours are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. both days, featuring concerts, fan zones, giveaways and MLS player appearances.
According to the city, the two-day celebration will also include interactive fan zones, autograph sessions, MLS watch parties, and evening concerts to celebrate Austin as the “Live Music Capital of the World.”
Admission to both nights of the MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration is free.
“Organizers are not requesting fee waivers from the city,” as they plan to seek reimbursement through the state’s Major Events Reimbursement Program, Angela Means, Director of the city’s Office of Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment, said in the memo.
In a resolution passed in February, the Austin City Council supported Austin’s continued recognition as a “Soccer City,” something city leaders say this event helps promote.
