AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin City Manager TC Broadnax will present his proposed draft budget to city council during an Austin City Council session Tuesday. The budget draft released to the public minutes before midnight on July 11.
The proposal would set the city’s budget over $6 billion, with a $1.5 billion General Fund. Most of the city’s tax revenue goes into that subset of the larger budget.
Austin Mayor Kirk Watson said in a July 12 memo that he’ll ask for additional proposals from Broadnax at a July 22 meeting of the city’s Audit & Finance Committee.
The city manager’s budget presentation will happen at 9 a.m. Tuesday. A press conference will be held after that presentation. Broadnax, along with the city’s Chief Financial Officer Ed Van Eenoo, budget office Director Kerri Lang and budget office Deputy Director Erik Nelson, are expected to speak.
