Trader Joe’s opening new stores across the country: See the list of locations

WASHINGTON — More than 30 Trader Joe’s stores are set to open soon. 

The grocery store chain, which is known for its viral and seasonal items, added more than a dozen new locations to its “opening soon” website page over the last few months. The list now includes 31 store locations, which span across 18 states and the District of Columbia.  

Trader Joe’s did not confirm official dates for these locations, but some stores are slated for a 2025 grand opening.

The grocery store chain went viral last month over its choice to open a Trader Joe’s across the street from another one of its stores in Sherman Oaks, California. It opened a new location at 14140 Riverside Drive on June 6, less than 100 yards from its long-standing store at 14119 Riverside Drive. 

The setup led to confusion and questions among many online, with multiple viral TikTok videos pointing out just how close the stores are to each other. One video shows a user panning from one storefront to the other, showcasing the unusually close proximity. 

“Since Trader Joe’s began in 1967, we have been in growth mode. Some years, we grow more than others, and our goal is always to bring delicious products at great values to as many people as we can. The best way to do that is to open more stores,” Trader Joe’s spokesperson Nakia Rohde said in a statement at the time. 

In 2024, the popular grocery store chain opened 34 new stores nationwide.
