Two dead, others injured in drive-by shooting outside SE Houston club

The shooting happened a little after 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Police say the gunfire came from and car and into a crowd gathered outside the club.

HOUSTON — Two people are dead and several others injured after a drive-by shooting outside a club in southeast Houston late Sunday night. 

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened a little after 11:45 p.m. in the parking lot of a club along Dixie Road near Heffernan Street.

Assistant Chief Adrian Rodriguez said multiple shots were fired from a gray or silver four-door sedan into a crowd gathered outside the club. One person died at the scene. Another person was pronounced dead at the hospital.  Some of the injured were taken by private vehicles to the hospital. Others were treated at the scene.

Rodriguez said the victims’ ages vary, and one may be a juvenile.

At this point, it’s not clear what led up to the shooting.  Police are reviewing surveillance video and plan to talk to victims who are at the hospital.
