GoFundMe launched for Rob and Melissa Kamin’s children

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the children of Melissa and Rob Kamin, who died in the Texas Hill Country flood on July 4.

TEXAS, USA — A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the children of Melissa and Rob Kamin, who died July 4 in devastating floods that swept through the Texas Hill Country.

The fundraiser, organized by longtime friend Haley Cassidy seeks to help the couple’s children face “the uncertainty of what comes next” following their parents’ deaths.

“In the wake of this tragedy, her children are left not only with the pain of losing their mother, but also with the uncertainty of what comes next,” Cassidy wrote in the campaign description.

Rob, of Wisconsin and Melissa, of Lumberton, recently welcomed their first grandchild and were described as generous, faithful people who loved the outdoors.

Melissa worked as a physical therapy assistant at Deerbrook Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Humble. Coworkers and friends held a memorial ceremony and balloon release Wednesday morning to honor her memory.

According to the campaign, all funds raised will go directly to Melissa’s mother, who will manage distribution to the children for immediate and future needs.

“As a community, we want to rally around them and show them the love and care that Melissa showed to us throughout her life,” Cassidy wrote.

The campaign describes Melissa as “a vibrant light in the lives of everyone who knew her” with “a heart full of kindness and a quick wit that made us laugh even in hard times.”

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
