Cognizant Major League Cricket and the Texas Super Kings contributed $20,000 to TEGNA Texas Flood Relief Fund for Central Texas flood recovery efforts.
DALLAS — When devastating floods hit Central Texas recently, two major players in the cricket world stepped up to help. Cognizant Major League Cricket and the Texas Super Kings have joined forces to donate $20,000 to flood relief efforts in the region.
The organizations are each contributing $10,000 through the Communities Foundation of Texas to the TEGNA Texas Flood Relief Fund. This fund, created in partnership with WFAA in Dallas-Fort Worth and 10 other local news brands across the state, is helping communities recover and rebuild after the floods.
“We believe in the power of community, and we’re committed to standing with Texas to support those in need,” Major League Cricket CEO Johnny Grave said. “Our hope is that this contribution provides meaningful support during a time when we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”
The donation will go directly to the TEGNA Texas Flood Relief Fund, which you can contribute to at NorthTexasGivingDay.org.
Anurag Jain, Dallas-based co-owner of Major League Cricket and the Texas Super Kings, hopes to see others get involved.
“We encourage everyone who is able to show their support through the Communities Foundation of Texas organized funds,” Jain said. “May comfort be found in unity, peace amid uncertainty, and resilience in the days to come.”
