Man killed in shooting near Princeton, Texas

A man died from multiple gunshot wounds in a shooting just south of Princeton, officials said.

PRINCETON, Texas — A man died Wednesday in a shooting just south of Princeton, officials said. 

The Collin County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded at approximately 8:16 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, to the 9100 block of Fig Circle for a reported shooting. The 911 caller told police he heard gunfire and then saw a man lying motionless.

When deputies arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, CCSO said. The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died, according to the sheriff’s department. 

The man’s identity was not released. 

No further information about the shooting was available, CCSO said.
