Dallas police arrest six in West End gang operation

DPD seized 61 grams of meth and other drugs in a gang unit operation in Downtown Dallas.

DALLAS — On Wednesday, Dallas police announced six arrests after an operation by the department’s gang unit in the West End area.

The Dallas Police Department said the unit focused on enforcement in the Downtown Dallas neighborhood on June 20 with the goal of pinpointing known and suspected gang members.

According to a release, the six arrested range in age from 27 to 42 years old. Along with the six arrests, officers seized 61 grams of methamphetamine, 2.5 grams of cocaine and 4.1 grams of phencyclidine, also known as PCP.

Here are the six arrested and the charges they face:

  • 38-year-old Kevin Lawrence – possession of a controlled substance
  • 25-year-old Trevon Freeman – theft from $750-$2,500
  • 42-year-old Lindsay Blackwell – possession of a controlled substance
  • 27-year-old Dilion Turkson – warrant for possession of marijuana
  • 41-year-old Wayne Beard – two counts of possession of a controlled substance
  • 31-year-old Ollison Wheeler – possession of a controlled substance
