Common Good opened in November 2024.
DALLAS — Many things go great with coffee, but a great haircut? That’s a new one.
“Our motto is just good coffee, good hair and good vibes,” said Jessee Nava, a manager at Common Good, a new coffee shop and hair studio in Dallas.
A coffee shop and hair studio may seem like an unusual combination, but the idea is something Nava and owner Chis Bermudez have seen in places like Korea and Mexico City, Bermudez’s home.
However, they couldn’t find it anywhere in North Texas.
“We don’t know of anyone else here that has that concept so let’s push that here and see if it catches on,” Nava said.
Since opening in November 2024, Common Good has had a good response. That’s partly thanks to the sweet styles and partly to the unique drinks. The coffee shop serves a pistachio matcha, a Mexican mocha and many other specialty drinks.
While customers relax, they can spin some tunes on one of the two record players at the end of the coffee counter.
So, whether customers are thinking about drinks or contemplating their cut, Common Good is a place where they can sit and “mullet” over.
“Yeah, business in the back and party in the front,” Nava laughed. “Absolutely.”
It’s a concept he hopes will never go out of style.
