HOUSTON —
NASA has tapped several Houston-area companies for a new multimillion-dollar contract at Johnson Space Center, the agency said last week.
Houston-based MacLean Engineering and Applied Technology Services LLC, commonly known as Metecs, received a five-year contract to help build simulations and software services for space-based vehicles and robots. The contract, known as the Simulations and Advanced Software Services II, or SASS II, has a maximum value of $150 million and begins in October.
Representatives for Metecs were not available to comment when contacted by the Houston Business Journal via phone and email.
NASA also named Houston-based Tietronix Software Inc. and League City-based Vedo Systems LLC as “major subcontractors” for the award.
According to USASpending.gov, Metecs previously received the SASS award for five years running from 2020 to the end of the current fiscal year.
