One person was killed in a fatal shooting overnight, police said.
FORT WORTH, Texas — One person was killed in a fatal shooting in North Fort Worth Sunday, officials said.
Officers responded to a shooting call around 2:39 a.m. on July 6 in the 3100 block of North Main Street, Fort Worth police said in a press release.
When police arrived, they found the victim on the ground in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to his torso, the release states. The victim was taken to a hospital where he died, police said.
Detectives determined that the suspect and additional suspects were involved in a physical altercation that was broken up by witnesses, the release states. The suspects then went to a vehicle and retrieved weapons, firing at the victim and then leaving the scene in a dark colored vehicle, police said.
Police are investigating the incident.
