According to the Houston Fire Department, crews noticed what they called a strong chemical smell in the basement.
HOUSTON — Two people were found dead in a home in the River Oaks area, according to the Houston Fire Department.
According to HFD, crews were sent to a home on Avalon Place, which is near the intersection of San Felipe and River Oaks Boulevard, a little before 7 p.m. When they got there, they said they smelled a strong chemical smell in the basement. They later found two unconscious people.
Both were declared dead at the scene.
At this point, it’s not clear how both people died. A HazMat crew was called to the home.
As soon as we have information on who was in the home or what led to their deaths, we’ll post it here.
