An officer undergoing training discovered about 200 pounds of methamphetamine and $20,000 in cash in a vehicle pulled over after a hit-and-run, Humble police said.
HUMBLE, Texas — A rookie cop and a K9 named Augie are credited with a huge drug bust in Humble on Thursday, July 3.
The Humble Police Department said a tow truck driver contacted them after witnessing a hit-and-run crash on the Highway 59 service road near West 1st Street.
The HPD traffic unit tracked down the vehicle and pulled it over near a Smoothie King. After arresting the driver, an officer undergoing training discovered two large duffle bags with what appeared to be narcotics.
Humble PD K9 Augie alerted to the back of the vehicle and the drugs were confirmed to be 200 pounds of methamphetamine. About $20,000 in cash was also recovered.
The driver’s name hasn’t been released.
