DeSoto police are searching for a suspect in a Tuesday night bank jugging robbery on N. Polk Street.
DESOTO, Texas — The DeSoto Police Department says it is searching for the suspect in an aggravated robbery, or a bank jugging incident, that occurred Tuesday evening.
The term “jugging” refers to a form of robbery in which a suspect follows a victim from a bank or ATM after a withdrawal and robs them.
According to DeSoto PD, the robbery happened in the 1000 block of N. Polk Street at around 6:20 p.m. Police said the suspect followed the victim in a black Dodge truck from a bank to a nearby convenience store and robbed them at gunpoint.
Police said the victim was not injured in the robbery.
The suspect, police said, is described as a 25 to 30-year-old Black male, standing about six feet tall and weighing around 170 to 180 pounds. DeSoto police said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and black shoes at the time of the robbery.
“The DeSoto Police Department encourages our citizens to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings when using ATMs or engaging in other financial transactions,” DeSoto PD said in a news release. “Stay alert to ensure your safety and prevent potential theft or scams.
