According to the museum, no exhibits were damaged.
DALLAS — The Perot Museum of Nature and Science says the building suffered “minor damage” in an early morning break-in Tuesday.
According to a statement from the museum, an unarmed individual was able to access the museum before public hours, which prompted a response from both museum security and the Dallas Police Department.
The museum said that the situation was quickly contained.
An incident report from Dallas PD said the suspect entered the museum and “took a jacket with intent to keep it.”
No exhibits were damaged, though the museum confirmed some minor property damage occurred.
“We take every potential security concern seriously,” the museum said in a statement. “There is no threat to the safety of our staff and visitors, and the Museum opened as scheduled without incident.”
