HOUSTON — An investigation is underway after two men were found shot to death in a park in southwest Houston Friday morning, police say.
The Houston Police Department said the men were found in Wildheather Park on White Heather Drive at 5:43 a.m.
The sister of one of the victims told KHOU 11’s Jason Miles he was in his mid-70s. She said the two had met at the park for a walk.
It’s unclear whether the attack was a targeted incident or a random act of violence. There’s no word on a suspect or suspects.
KHOU 11’s Deevon Rahming was the first reporter at the scene and said neighbors reported hearing more than a dozen gunshots just before 6 a.m.
“When I came outside, I saw all the crime scene tape and the police out here and there was a family out here and they were all crying and one of the sons said that was their dad walking with another neighbor,” one neighbor said.
If you have any information about what happened, you’re asked to contact Houston police.
