TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — An investigation is underway after a 40-year-old man died at an Austin hospital early Monday, according to a press release from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
TCSO said Austin Police called around 1:35 a.m. to report that the man arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds. The man arrived at the hospital around 1:13 a.m., but died at 1:34 a.m., according to the release.
APD told TCSO that a person brought the wounded man in from near the 11400 block of Moore Road. That location is in TCSO’s jurisdiction, according to the release.
The victim’s identity hasn’t been released by authorities yet.
TCSO said it arrested an 18-year-old relative of the deceased as a suspect. However, the agency’s release said that charges for the suspect are pending.
The case is proceeding as TCSO’s “fourth homicide investigation of 2025,” according to the release. The sheriff’s office said there isn’t an ongoing threat to the public in this case.
