The toy’s silicone strings can get lodged in the back of children’s throats and cause respiratory distress, regulators said.
WASHINGTON — Pull-string teething toys sold on Amazon have been recalled because parts of the toy pose a choking risk to children, federal safety regulators warned Thursday.
About 102,000 Tiyol Pull String Teething Toys are included in the recall. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the toys’ silicone strings are small and longer than federally permitted.
The long strings can get lodged in the back of children’s throat, posing a risk of “respiratory distress and becoming a deadly choking hazard,” according to the safety recall.
Federal safety regulators said they are aware of 11 choking incidents related to the recall.
The teething toys come in an off-white disc shape with a red ball in the middle and six long silicone pull strings running through the ball. The toy also has three free-spinning rings and soft push buttons on the disc.
“Model no. 688-59” is printed on the product packaging.
The toys were sold online through Amazon from October 2022 through January 2026. They sold for about $10 to $12.
Consumers should stop using the toy immediately, take it away from children and contact ZW Creations for a free replacement.
Consumers will be asked to cut and discard all silicone string tentacles, write “RECALLED” on the main body of the toy using a permanent marker, and submit a photograph of the destroyed product online at https://tiyol-recall.com.
Those with questions about the recall can contact ZW Creations at 833-699-8651 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or via email at tiyolrecall@outlook.com.
